I attended a wonderful panel discussion yesterday at The Greene Space in SoHo. Titled "The Invisibles," it is described as "a discussion with four creators who travel among the unseen." 'so cool that Cekis was included. He spoke about his graffiti as "urban intervention" in his native Santiago, Chile and here in NYC. A brief slide show was presented of his work, as well. Pictured speaking in this photo is Anthony Papa, an artist, writer and advocate against the war on drugs. Art literally saved his life, as while in prison, he "painted his way to freedom."

D*Face @ Jonathan LeVine Gallery
I'm so glad I made it to this exhibit before it ends on Friday. I love the way London-based D*Face plays with images culled from popular culture, comic books and ads. Brilliant, provocative and fun!

from Keith Haring New York
While on the LES last week, I checked out the exhibit, "Keith Haring New York" at the Woodward Gallery. I found it far more interesting from a socio-cultural perspective than from an aesthetic one. This particular piece is from an LES door salvaged by Clayton Patterson. It is from a building in which both he and Keith Haring lived in the 80's. Notice the "Radiant Baby!"
