'curating overseas can be fun when working with someone as professional as Leora Cheshin, a wonderful photographer based in Jerusalem, who shares my passion for "street art." I will be there for the gallery talk on May 23.

Subway Sticker Art
I've been noticing more and more stickers in the subways. Perhaps they've always been there, and I hadn't been paying attention to them. Anyway, I'm starting to document them.

Graf Writers Debate Vandal Squad
Despite tons of work yet to do for "Einstein on Witherspoon Street", I headed down to Dumbo to catch the "debate" between Ket, Cope2, Ellis G and members of the vandal squad. PowerHouse hosted the event to promote Joseph Rivera's book about his years as a vandal squad member. With the exception of a few moments towards the end, the debate was ridiculously tame. 'walked away with no new insights. I, somehow, expected more than the usual cliches.

Downstairs @ LaViolaBank
'discovered a relatively new gallery on the south side of Delancey. I can't keep up with all the changes on the LES. Anyway, besides the main exhibit (HuskMitnavn, "It TaKes Two") upstairs that I liked, there were lots of cool pieces on the gallery's lower level. I think the artist of this piece is Jason McLean.

Lower East Side Sticker Art
These days I almost never get to the south side of Delancey Street. But on the way back from the dentist walking to the East Broadway station, I noticed some stickers that I hadn't seen anywhere else.
DUMBO Graffiti
After leaving Juan Sanchez's studio on Jay Street, Endi and I roam around the outskirts of DUMBO. 'thrilled to see some vibrant graf as I associate Dumbo with stencil art and paste-ups.

Onesto @ Hamilton Fish, NYPL
As Onesto ended up in NYC during this frigid weather, the streets weren't the the ideal canvas. Rodger, the head librarian at the Hamilton Fish Park Branch @ the New York Public Library, was delighted to give the stage in the gallery/community room over to Onesto. 'so cool!

LES Installation
As Samantha and I were walking north along Houston, we found this. Sam noticed the price tag/installation. We then saw another one near the Museum of Contemporary Art. Samantha refers to it as "Recession Street Art."
