Compared to NYC, Tel Aviv and Jerusalem seem to be thriving. There aren't all that many reminders of the recession. Ame72 directed me to one of his pieces that had me thinking once again about our erratic economic state.

"Free Your Colors" in Jerusalem
This is perhaps the most popular stencil in Jerusalem at this time. Meydad tells me that it is plea to folks to live with passion -- not to give into apathy or indifference. Variations of it appear throughout the city.

C215 in Tel Aviv
Leora had told me about Capzoola, Tel Aviv's graffiti supply store, and Inspire took me over there. On the outside are at least a half-dozen wonderful pieces. Among them is this portrait by C215. On its left is a small installation by Klone.

In Defense of MBW
I did a google search for MBW and discovered just how much he is put down for trying to be another "Banksy" -- or whatever. I wonder about that, as I think the guy is brilliant. His Obama as Superman is one of my favorites, as is his Einstein. This is brilliant too.

Einstein in the Meatpacking District
I discovered quite a few of these in the Meatpacking District today, but only this one has a red background! I love MBW's portrayal of Einstein.
