R.I.P., Michael Jackson
'been thinking lots about Michael Jackson, the joy and the torment he brought to so many others and himself -- the mark of a genius.
Chelsea Sticker Art
Among the most interesting stickers in town are those to be found on the window of "Printed Matter" on 10th Avenue and 22nd Street. The Chelsea street art scene, in general, is hardly happening.

Visual Slang 2009
The wonderful postal stickers that I bought at Ad Hoc's "Going Postal" exhibit, along with the deck of graffiti cards I discovered at Alphabeta last year, came in handy! As the subject of this year's "Visual Slang" is characters, Tara, along with Aaron, designed a cool installation that included both the stickers and cards.

While researching information about Bastardilla, a wonderful artist whom I met briefly in Bogota almost two years ago, I came across this video. Thanks, Lorenzo, for lending us Bastardilla's stunning portrait for this year's "Visual Slang."

Bronx Rooftop Graffiti
It's always a treat to visit Sien. Besides seeing his wonderful pieces, I get to see the rooftop which serves as his outdoor canvas. His freshly painted train is one of the highlights of this wonderland!
Chris Stain in Bed-Stuy
'so glad to see Chris Stain's stunning work as I exited the G train at Bedford-Nostrand. I first discovered Chris's work on stickers last year on the Lower East Side; this is one of the few times I've actually seen it on a wall.

Whole in the Wall
On my first day back in NYC, I headed over to Whole in the Wall, a massive three-floor graffiti exhibit on W. 35th Street. 'was especially impressed with Lee Quinones' huge pieces and Victor Ash's stencil art -- which was new to me. The whole scene, though, was a bit much, along with the prices.
