My apologies to the "art world" -- but I found MBW's massive exhibit irresistibly appealing. And what better way is there to recycle old records?!
Worth a visit (even to be noted as a mere cultural phenomenon), it takes up two floors at 415 West 13th Street.

Edi Valle in "Feverary"
I saw some pretty cool pieces -- that I hadn't seen anywhere else -- at "Feverary" last night. This one's by Edi Valle who tells me that it's a response to domestic abuse. Sien did a wonderful job putting this one-night event together. (And there were actually quite a few folks my age there -- and not just the ages of my kids!)

NYC Truck Art
As the East 90's is so barren, I did a double-take when I saw this truck. Yes, it really is this blue!

Wall of Fame Close-Up
After visiting El Museo del Barrio, I took a walk over to the "Wall of Fame." Sadly, I had no access to it as everything was behind gates. I did try to capture this piece as it particularly intrigued me. I was disappointed that the Tats Cru Wall on the outside was scrawled over. That rarely happens. I tried to find some stickers around, but there were none in sight -- unusual for NYC.

Todd James @ Gering & Lopez
Some pretty wild stuff going on in Todd James' exhibit over at Gering and Lopez. I'm not sure what's happening here -- but the cartoony characters cavorting in all kinds of incongruous settings are loads of fun. I'm glad I had the chance to check it out before it closes tomorrow.

Black Book Tag
I love looking through writers' black books, as I never know whose tag I will discover. Thanks, Fish, for this!

'just discovered an amazing set of prints to be sold tomorrow night at Upper Playground in downtown LA -- as a fundraiser for the victims of the Haitian earthquake.

From Burner Ones' Black Book
It was wonderful seeing my former student, Burner, at the opening to "Staying Alive 2." It had been over 20 years. I'm glad he still takes his black book everywhere!

R. Nicholas Kuszyk @ Cinders
I first noticed R. Nicholas Kuszyk's spellbinding robots on an amazing mural outside the Bagel Store on Bedford Avenue in Williamsburg. I then was captivated by his work on canvas when I saw it at McCaig-Welles. Today we went over to Cinders Gallery -- one of my favorite spots anywhere -- just as he was getting ready for tonight's opening. It was great to meet the artist --who is as charming as his characters! The installation is stunning and beautifully executed. Entitled "Superconcious Futureritual," it continues at 103 Havemeyer through March 12th. (Later in the afternoon, I discovered a children's book of his at Spoonbill & Sugartown. Wow!)
Red Nose In the Meatpacking District
I've been seeing more and more of Tazz's paste-ups around town. I'm glad this cold weather hasn't deterred him!

MBW Installation in Progress
I passed by 415 West 13th Street, as MBW's exhibit was being installed. The space and much of the work intrigued me. It opens this Sunday afternoon.

Pasted in SoHo
Not much new or interesting in SoHo these days, but I do love this paste-up signed, "Feral."

E.Williamsburg/Bushwick Graffiti
Thanks to Meres and TD4, some of the freshest walls in town are right off the Morgan Ave. stop on the L train. I discovered them by chance while checking out Jef Aerosol's exhibit last week. These walls, alone, are worth a trip to East Williamsburg/Bushwick.
Stickers Spotted on 2.5.10
Walking today from the LES to the Broadway-Lafayette station via NoLita, I saw quite a few stickers I hadn't seen elsewhere.
