I passed by Denise Carbonell's former spot on Stanton Street last week and came upon this exhibit in what is now the NY Studio Gallery. I was mesmerized by everything about it -- from its title, "Can't Live the Commonest Way On Six Bits a Day" to its subdued palette. 'so glad to discover Charlotta Janssen's images inspired by American photographs of poor and working-class Americans captured around the time of the Great Depression.
